​11:30 AM: I want to garden - where do I start?- Mark Stumpf-Allen

Mark has gardened in Edmonton for five decades and has worked as a community garden coordinator and compost educator. He is currently running the Master Gardener Program in Parkland County.

12:30 PM: Seed Saving for Resilience and Delight- Suzanne Cook​

Suzanne Cook is one of the team of women who has organized Edmonton Seedy Sunday
since 2007.  As a gardener of over 50 years, she gives talks and is working on a near-future revamp of a seed library for Edmonton.​

1:30 PM: Soil- Mike Dorian

Hi I am Mike D, aka the Compost Kid.
Starting with a Gardening class put on by the Calgary Horticulture Society, I became immersed. It continued with my Permaculture Design Certificate, Compost Facility Operators Certificate, and mentoring in Soil and Soil Microbiology. I am currently working on my Soil Food Web Advisor role with the Life in the
Soil program put on by Elaine Ingham, and was one of the founders of Highfield Farm an Urban Ag Pilot program with the City of Calgary and Compost Council of Canada.​

2:30 PM: A Land Use Mulligan: A Golf Course Redesign Workshop- Dustin Bajer and Rocky Feroe

In the heart of the city, minutes from downtown, five golf courses occupy hundreds of acres of Edmonton's river valley. Considering the climate and housing emergencies, are exclusive golf courses on public land a sound investment? Given the opportunity, how could land for golf courses benefit all Edmontonians?

Rocky and Dustin will set the stage for a golf course redesign challenge before turning it over to participants. With posters and markers, groups of participants will have time to redesign an Edmonton golf course fairway. We will share our ideas and conclude with a group discussion about golf courses, the river valley, and public land for all.
