12:30 PM: Seed Saving for Resilience and Delight- Suzanne Cook

2:30 PM: A Land Use Mulligan: A Golf Course Redesign Workshop- Dustin Bajer and Rocky Feroe
In the heart of the city, minutes from downtown, five golf courses occupy hundreds of acres of Edmonton's river valley. Considering the climate and housing emergencies, are exclusive golf courses on public land a sound investment? Given the opportunity, how could land for golf courses benefit all Edmontonians? Rocky and Dustin will set the stage for a golf course redesign challenge before turning it over to participants. With posters and markers, groups of participants will have time to redesign an Edmonton golf course fairway. We will share our ideas and conclude with a group discussion about golf courses, the river valley, and public land for all. Rocky Feroe of Edmonton River Valley Conservation Coalition and Dustin Bajer of Shrubscriber.com. |
